On Saturday after our purchase of some Organic Seedlings from a local Charity I had to put together a raised bed. This is my frugal version which will probably rot within 4 years. I used untreated pine (whitewood), but it was very affordable. Total cost was $28.67.
The soil was a little more expensive, but I got bags of Jungle Growth and Miracle Grow Organic garden soil at1.5 cu ft for $5.72. This came to about $75. Putting it together was very straightforward.
The first crops are in, from left to right, Red Russian Kale, Swiss Chard, Early Peas, Calendula, Sunflower, and Summer Magda Squash.
