My cucumbers were starting to invade my tomatoes and we couldn't have that. So I built a trellis from some 2x4's and sisal and leaned it against the fence. It is not bolted down in any way, but is fairly heavy and I don't imagine that a storm could shake it. I also tied up the cucumbers and hope that they will follow the lead and grow up the trellis now.
What is sisal? I am thinking about building a cucumber trellis for my garden this year- actually several. But I'm not entirely sure the cheapest and easiest way.
ReplyDeletei to made my own trellis this year out of bamboo sticks its about 5ft tall and now the cucs are about 6 ft tall i dont know what to do with them i live in an aptartment and have them growing on the patio before i know it they are going to be growing up to my neighbors second floor apartment and i bought the two tall bamboo sticks from wal mart and then i bought a bagof 20 2 ft sticks from doller tree for a dollar
